GWRRA Chapter NC Y2

Friends for Fun, Safety, and Knowledge

Gold Wing Road Riders Association is a not-for-profit international organization based in Phoenix, AZ. With more than 70,000 members in all 50 states and over 45 foreign countries, we are the world's largest single marquee social organization for owners and riders of Honda Gold Wing and Valkyrie motorcycles. Membership is not limited to Gold Wing owners; members may own any make of motorcycle or not own a motorcycle at all.

GWRRA is organized by Region, District, and Chapter. The Appalachian Region, Region "N", spans Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The North Carolina District features over 35 Chapters across the state.

Rocky River Wings, Chapter NC Y2, represents the area between East Charlotte and Laurinburg, North Carolina. We were chartered as a GWRRA chapter in 2006 and consider ourselves to be a "riding" chapter and part of the world's largest family. We love to ride and get together regularly for fellowship and to have some fun. Anyone who enjoys being around fun-loving people is welcome to join us at our monthly gathering or contact one of Chapter Team members for more information.

Each year, the GWRRA international rally, Wing Ding, boasts 8,000+ attendees. Additionally, the North Carolina District Rally near Asheville, Wings Over the Smokies, brings in over 3,000 people and over 80 vendors catering to motorcyclists.

GWRRA encourages rider safety by promoting Rider Education Programs. Each chapter has an Educator to oversee local participation in the GWRRA Rider Education Program, providing safety instruction throughout North Carolina. Nationally since 1994, through 4,918 seminars and riding courses, GWRRA reached 145,645 motorcyclists with its message of motorcycle safety. GWRRA is continually recognized by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for its efforts.

What is GWRRA? We are your next door neighbor. Your associate at work. Your doctor. Your child's teacher. People from all walks of life have come together to make the GWRRA what it is today: an organization that makes no social or political demands on its participants, other than to allow them the opportunity to have the time of their life, enjoying the most exciting means of transportation ever invented.
